Shikharji & Panch Teerth Yatra
The ultimate pilgrimage covering Sammed Shikharji (Nirvan Bhumi of 20 Tirthankaras), the five sidhh khetras and the birthplaces of Bhagwan Mahavir and Vasupujya Swami.
Day 1
1. Madhuban (Shikharji Base)
TirthThe base camp for Shikharji pilgrimage. Madhuban is home to dozens of beautiful Shwetambar and Digambar Kothis/Dharmshalas. You can do darshan of all the base temples in Madhuban itself. Note: Deoghar (DGH) is the nearest airport and Parasnath (PNME) is the nearest railway station.
Day 2
1. Sammed Shikharji Parvat Vandana
TirthThe holiest Jain Tirth. A 27 km trek to do vandana of the 25 'Tonks' where 20 out of 24 Tirthankaras attained Nirvana. Start early (2-3 AM) for the vandana.
Day 3
1. Palganj Prachin Digambar Jain Mandir
TempleAn ancient atishay kshetra with a 2500-year-old idol of Bhagwan Parshwanath. Historically known as the original 'Taleti' or base of Shikharji.
2. Mandargiri Hill, Nirvan Bhoomi of Vasupujya Swami
TirthThe only place associated with all five Kalyanakas — Garbha, Janma, Tapa, Gyan, and Moksha — of 12th tirthankar, Bhagwan Vasupujya. The site is the tap, kevalgyan, and moksha sthali of Vasupujya Swami. Also has ropeway to the top.
3. Mandargiri Base Temple
TirthAncient temple of vasupujya swami, located near the railway station.
4. Champapuri, Bhagalpur
TirthThe garbha and janma sthal of Vasupujya Swami. Main 2 Kothis on the opposite sides of the road (19 Temples in Terahpanthi Kothi and 35 Vedis in Bispanthi Kothi).
Day 4
1. Kundalpur (Nalanda) Digambar Jain Mandir
TirthThe sacred Janm Bhoomi (birthplace) of Bhagwan Mahavir Swami. There are 2 Kothis opposite to each other.
2. Pavapuri Jal Mandir
TirthThe Moksh Bhoomi of Bhagwan Mahavir. The white marble temple is situated in the middle of a large lotus pond, marking the spot of his nirvana. There are 3 other temples in pavapuri.
3. Gunavaji Siddha Kshetra, Nawada
TirthThe Moksh Bhoomi of Gautam Ganadhar.
4. Digambar Jain Dharmshala, Rajgir
TirthNight stay and Bhojan available. Nearby is Shri Mahavir Swami Temple.
Day 5
1. Bhagwaan Munisuvratnath Swami Janm Bhoomi, Rajgir
TirthAncient temple of Muni Suvratnath Swami, believed to be his birthplace.
2. Parvat Vandana, Rajgir
TirthYou will need to do tanga for the parvat vandana. Do darshan at the five hills of Rajgir - Many munis (sky clad saints) attained salvation from the mountains present here namely Vaibhargiri, Vipulachal, Ratnagiri, Udaygiri, and Sonagiri. Vipulachal is the site of Bhagwan Mahavir's first 'Divya Dhwani' after attaining Kevalgyan.
3. Veerayatan Jain Museum, Rajgir
Tourist-AttractionA spiritual and humanitarian organization featuring a beautiful Brahmi-Kala Mandir museum depicting Jain history through dioramas. For departure, nearest railway station is Rajgir. Nearest airports are Gaya and Patna.
